Environmental Chemistry at CSU Chico

Welcome to the Environmental Chemistry Lab at Chico State!

Dr. Sandrine Matiasek advises undergraduate and graduate (MSc) student researchers in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences of the College of Natural Sciences at California State University, Chico. The research team studies how land use impacts the chemical composition of terrestrial waters, with particular focus on urban storm runoff, post-fire runoff, and soil waters.

Research interests include water quality effects of burning at the wildland urban interface, urban stormwater biofiltration, dissolved organic matter cycling in surface and soil waters, and comparing water composition in regenerative and conventional agricultural systems.

Dr. Matiasek teaches environmental science and aqueous geochemistry courses at Chico State.
